Justin McClure was born on October 11, 1974 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He is the father of twin stars Ava and Alexis McClure, who were named Forbes Magazine’s Top Most Influential Kids of 2017, and Jersey McClure. Hailing from a rural area, Justin had a very difficult upbringing in a single-parent household. He attended the University of North Georgia in 1994. In his early 20s, he moved to Massachusetts to work for a startup company called Techmar. The company then relocated to California where Justin managed the IT department and worked as an engineer.

While in California, Justin began performing as a stand-up comedian. In the mid-2000s, he decided to pursue comedy full-time. Justin performed on comedy tours throughout the United States and headlined USO Tours for troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Japan, Korea, and Afghanistan. Justin has also made multiple television appearances which included being a semi-finalist in the 3rd season of NBC’s talent competition show, Last Comic Standing.

In 2010, Justin moved to New York City to continue his career in stand-up, performing in some of New York’s most notable comedy clubs such as the Broadway Comedy Club and Gotham Comedy Club. He has performed with comedy powerhouses, namely Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Jim Gaffigan, and Robin Williams. Throughout this period in his life, Justin also struggled with alcohol abuse and drug addiction.

“For much of my life, I never thought I could be a husband, or a dad, much less meet somebody and have empathy and sympathy.” – Justin McClure

“My distraction was alcohol, so one day I didn’t drink, then the next day I didn’t and I haven’t drank since.” – Justin McClure

In late 2012, Justin became inspired to begin his journey to sobriety after attending an event featuring lecturer and author, Marianne Williamson. He internalized her quote “If you’re here tonight and you think that you’re wasting your life, that’s because you are but you don’t have to anymore.” Justin also credits the movie, Unguarded, the story of a professional athlete named Chris Herren battling drug addiction, as a major film that sparked his desire to overcome addiction and leave a positive impact on the world. Justin identified with Herren’s plight and realized that his addiction interfered with his goals. From that day forward, Justin has remained sober and has since shifted his focus from stand-up comedy to art and film, thus becoming an autodidactic photographer and filmmaker. He began to commit himself to community service, volunteering at The New York Botanical Garden, tutoring and mentoring children at the non-profit organization Hour Children, and working as a Team Leader for the non-profit organization New York Cares.

In 2014, Justin met Ami Dunni and they wed in July of 2015. He later adopted her twin daughters, Ava and Alexis, in 2016. That same year, he began building the McClure Twins Family’s social media presence and is now the creative director and content creator for the family of influencers.
